Yay, Amy is back! :) :) And I moved! :)

8. Januar 2012

Amy came back 5 days after she’d vanished!!! I was SO SO happy!! :) The crying about her was finally over. Yay! :) She just came home. And she was unhurt and not thiner than before. Strange. Where did she stay four days long? We can just wonder…

And then yesterday I finally moved. On the 6th of January I packed all the rest of my stuff: clothes, PC, rest of things of my desk etc etc. On the 7th Matze and I brought all things to my new room. Then we hung up the rest like the mirror.
And now I’m living in Blaustein = blue stone. I like the name :)

Rest of 2011 and start of the New Year

3. Januar 2012

Ok, so I’m back…
Meanwhile I wrote the exam of terminology. No problem! Almost everybody got a 1.0 :D The questions were the same we could test ourselves with online^^

About my rats: All four live now in one cage. The integration went very well. Momo knuckled down. The small rats won :D Easy teasy.
The cage will stay here as Matze and I built a new, a bigger one :) I hope they’ll like the one as well! Thanks again, Matze, for building it with me!!! (Even though you didn’t like it any more in the end…)

Then, Marina and I met with a woman of the deanery of student affairs as we want to do the 2nd and the 4th semster as one. Not sure if it will work out yet…

Then, Christmas.. when everything was still fine… *sighing*
Same procedure as every year: tidying up, baking a big Christmas cake, lunch, decorating the tree, eating the cake and having coffee/punch, church, music and presents, dinner. The Matze and I went to a caipi-party… I wasn’t that happy, but well, he wanted to go there.
Next day: yummi lunch as every year, I just love this meal!! <3 duck and maple sirup, apples etc. *yummi*
Christmas Holiday 2: yummi lunch, Matze joined us.

Then Matze and I started building the cage, buying furniture and setting it up in my new room. Whew! I was really exhausted afterwards! But it looks nice now :) Thanks Matze, you're the best! <3

And then, well, then... Amy didn't come home on the 30th of December... She's still missing. We don't know where she went. She's just away. That's making me so sad, I cry a lot because of her! ;( Yes, I can be very emotional when something is happening to my pets!! We already asked all neighbours, we hung up posters "wanted", we called the police, pet shelters, vets etc etc. Nothing. Nobody knows anything about her! That's making me panic and SO sad!! What if someone took her to do bad experiments with her? What if she's inside a cellar or something similar without water and food? What if she ran away because of the fireworks at New Year's Eve and can't find home? Please, please come home Amy! We miss you so much!! You're the 5th family member, you can't just be... away!! ;( ;(

New Year's Eve: Matze and I spent it at Astrid's and André's. We played some games, made pizza. It was nice! I really like playing games!

Today we made raclette... Yummi but I ate to much: stomach ache -.- I just hate it!!
Tomorrow: again to Blaustein with my mum to bring some things into the new room like blankets, sheets, maybe already some books etc...

Happy New Year >.< I just can’t be happy right now. Sorry.

Middle of Nov till middle of Dec

13. Dezember 2011

After having laid to rest 2 pets of mine another rat fell ill: Soraya. Her illness began with a simple sneezing and giving her antibiotics and finished with her stopping to eat, me forcing some baby food down her throat and going with her to the vet the second time. Then the vet put her down because her lungs seemed to have collapsed ;( Another crying time for me!! So Momo was left alone in the big cage. The 3 baby rats grew, I called them Amber, Nymeria and Lilith. Nymeria already enjoy walking on me and are quite tame. Lilith is a coward like Momo (they’ll fit together well…). Last Sunday I started the integration. Till today everything went fine :) So maybe after 1 week I can put them into one cage. That’d be awesome!!

Another part of my life: searching for a room in Ulm. And I must tell you: yayyyy!!! I found a room in a flat in Blaustein (10 mins to university, 20 mins to the city). I’m going to live there with 3 guys (my boyfriend isn’t that thrilled about it I fear). They’re quite nice although I don’t know them very well yet. Tomorrow I’ll get the keys and then I can start buying furniture. That’s going to be expensive -.- Also I couldn’t decide which colour I should take… I wanted black-brown but that was more expensive than white, so now I decided for white (almost all furniture of IKEA is white…). Ok, so a new desk, a new desk chair, a new shelf, a new bed (bigggg) and a new wardrobe. I’m thinking about buying or building a new rat cage too as I’m going to need 2. :/
My guinea pigs will stay here, my mother is very thrilled *attention: irony*

Another part of my life: university. I had to go to the physisian of the university because of the preparation course in the third semester. No problems except that I forgot to bring my vaccination card -.- Typical for me I know^^

With some friends I played one night “werwolves of the dark woods”, a funny game but it’d have been even more funny if we’d been more people.

Then Christmas time started: I baked a loooot of Christmas cookies again this year. I have to finish one sort then I’ll count how many types I’ve made^^

I also visited 3 Christmas markets this year: Ulm (with my mother, with some fellow students), Esslingen (with Nina and Anja) and Neu-Ulm (with Matze, too empty^^).

I also visited the hospital ward number 4 of the children’s hospital in Ulm as I’m going to do my second month of the internship of care there in March. The ward is the one where babies have to stay when they are born too early. So cute they are ;)

Last Saturday I watched ” In time” with Matze. I liked it, he didn’t that much. I don’t care :D :D

Next Tuesday I’ll have my first exam of medicine: terminology. It won’t be that difficult. I won’t study much for it :)

end of August to middle of November 2011

11. November 2011

Ok, what happened till my last post here?

Matze and I spent 1 week at the Lake Constance.  The weather was beautiful, even too hot some days! We enjoyed swimming in the lake (but I didn’t like the wavy lake on a windy day…), we visited the park of the castle of Salem (and the church there), the museum about stilt houses in Unteruhldingen, the mountain Pfänder in Bregenz (A) and the bird of prey show (very admirable birds!), the museum about zeppelins in Friedrichshafen and we went by bike to Lindau :) A nice lake holiday!

Afterwards I spent 5 days in Paris with my friend Tini. I’m really thankful that she also loves to visit so many sights and loves to inform herself about culture and history! :) We visited almost all important sights of Paris like: Versailles and gardens, Tour Eiffel, Grave of Napoleon (Dôme des Invalides), Montmartre with church Sacré-Coeur where we met our forum member Marie (so funny!! :D ), the catacombs of Paris (so many bones!), the church Notre-Dame, the church Sainte Chapelle (beautiful colourful glass windows), the Palace of Justice with the Conciergerie where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned, the museum Louve, l’avenue de champs-elyssées with a lot of shops (especially a big shopof perfume^^), the triumph arc, the garden of Luxembourg, garden de Tuileries etc. I’m sure I forgot a lot *lol* ask Tini ;) Our feet hurt a lot in the evenings :( but it was worth it!! We also loved the bakery next to our hostel where we bought wonderful cakes :D The weather had been wonderful as well! :) We decided to go to Rome next year if possible! I’d really love this, Tini!!

During our visit in the museum Louvre my mother called me. First I thought something bad had happened, maybe an accident or that one of my pets died, but nooo, I was totally wrong *lol* She told me that I have been accepted for studying human medicine at the university of Ulm, yay!!! I was so happy when she told me! :)
When I came home I organised a first month of internship of care at the hospital of Geislingen. I worked in the inner medicine department. The nurses there were really really nice to me and they showed me a lot. So I also learnt a lot! :) Washing people or going to the toilet with them weren’t the things I liked the most, but it also is a part of care. So now I know that nurses really do a great work! The other things I liked better: bringing blood or urine probes to the lab, bringing the patients to examinations, talking to patients, bringing meals to patients, cleaning the rooms, setting up a room after the leave of a patient etc. The best thing was when patients where really happy that I had helped them and they were really thankful. That really warmed my heart and I knew that helping people will be more “my job” than working in a lab! :) But the work in the hospital also was exhausting and making me very tired! I had to work either from 6:00-13:30 or from 12:30-20:00. Getting up at 5 was hard for me. I just love to stay in bed! :D Running around so much also was new for me. Students use to sit around a lot. I also had to go to the hospital by bike and back home as well (up a hill). Additionally I had to work 12 days in a row without a weekend-break :( Well, I survived it!^^

Then university started. I made a few friends: Stefan, Dani and I met other nice persons as well. I hope to make more of them to friends ;)
It’s a pity, but Marina and I have to start in the first semester again -.- We wished to start in the 3rd but it was not possible… We also had a lot of bureaucratic problems *sigh* but I hope that’s over now! We only have to attend the following courses: psychology (senseless discussions which go round in circles about doctors as patients, social classes etc.), anatomy A once again with seminars, biology once again (I don’t attend this one, the lecture is boring!), terminology and EKM (=introduction into clinical medicine, we meet patients and analyze their diseases with the help of anamnesis e.g.). After Christmas only the subjects psychology and anatomy A will remain. :D So I only have 6-11 h/week. I almost feel unemployed… Don’t have to do that much… So I started working as a student ambassador again, but in November I can only go to an exhibition about education and to one school in Stuttgart, in Dec to no school till now -.-) and I also worked for Hexal for 2 weeks making presentations for nephrologists. I hope I’ll get the money soon :D But I didn’t find a job for every week, that’s sad :(

End of October Butterfly, one of my rats, fell ill. I tried to save her during 3 weeks but she did not recover and the she went over the rainbowbridge leaving me weeping a lot for her! ;( ;( She has been my tamest rat!
Hope, one of my old guinea pigs, also lay dead in her house one evening. ;(
That leaves 3 guinea pigs and 2 rats who don’t get along that well with one another… They live like they were alone :( So I decided to get 3 baby rats to join them. I hope the integration will work, wish me luck!!

Since September I’m also trying to find a room in a “WG” (living community). I visited already 11 communities, but noone wanted me :( Maybe because of the rats I have to take with me of course… I don’t know. On Tueday I visit the 12th community. I SO hope that I can find a room before March as I wish to do my second month of internship of care in the department of children and youths in Ulm then!! Please, cross your fingers for me!!

I also couldn’t find another horse I can take care for or ride since July :(

As you can see, my life isn’t that great at the moment…
But last weekend I saved the world from a pandemia with some friends (gaming evening) and I also spent one evening in a café with 2 other friends. Those were some nice hours.
This night I will go to the café Maxime with an old school friend, Franzi.

Other things I do at the moment: I read a lot, I write many letters, I watch a lot of series and movies, I listen to music and I decided to take up playing PC game Spellforce again! I also care for my rats a lot and I bought some new things.

August 2011

19. August 2011

I told you that I had given my thesis to Prof Liss, but I haven’t told you yet that I had to correct 10000 things :( First of all the introduction: I almost had to rewrite it! I also had to change the order in the part “results” (I had to bring it back into the order it has been BEFORE I gave the thesis to Elena which is really really annoying and costs a lot of time!! :( :( and other parts too. So I needed about 1 week to correct it… -.- Now Christina is reading it again and then I wish to hand it over that I can finally get a mark for it. But maybe Prof Liss wants to read it again, I don’t know yet. If yes, then I’ll have to correct it again in September. I really don’t want to! :/ This thesis it getting on my nerves and I wish it was all over already!!! Wish me luck that she doesn’t want to reread it!!
Besides correcting my thesis I enjoyed my holidays :) I worked in the garden (planted some dahlias, I weeded, I harvested blackberries (and I fell off the ladder -.-) but I also made some blackberry jam), I went to a barbecue at Corinna’s (this was meant as her birthday party), I spent some time with my friend Lulu (we went to a café) and I went to Ulm to have a look at a horse I may care for/ride from September on, but that’s not sure yet. Then I spent one day at the leisure park “Europapark” with my friends Nina and Sarah. It was really a wonderful day and the rollercoasters were great! :D We also made Lasagne the evening before and yesterday we ate Kässpätzle together. =) I watched 2 Transformer-movies with Matze as well.
Then my parents came back and yay, I had someone to talk to again :) I really felt kind of alone these 2 weeks when nobody was here to talk to (I could only talk to Matze in the evening or if I met some friends)!
Oh no, it started raining :( :( We had 2 nice and warm days and now rain again, ahhh I HATE this summer!!!
On Monday Matze and I showed an American student around in Geislingen and we went on top of the Ulmer Münster. That was really nice! :)
The next 2 days I also spent with Matze (he has a free week). We were hiking to the waterfall of Bad Urach and we relaxed at the source of the river Fils. :)
Tomorrow we might do an excursion, but only if it’s not raining. On Sunday I’m going to Ostfildern to see great fireworks of the US in Ostfildern. Noemi and Astrid and maybe my familiy will join me. I’m really looking forward to that!! :)
On Monday Matze and I are planning to go to the lake of Constance to spend there one week at a camp site.
