Yes, I know, I’m late :(
Sonntag, den 31. Juli 2011Sorry guys that I haven’t written anything here since February. :( But I have to tell you that this last semester was as bad as the fourth one. Too much work and almost no free time…
In February and March I had to write 5 exams of the fifth semester and we had a practical course in immunology. Additionally, I started the lab work for my bachelor thesis in the research group of molecular neurophysiology. The do research on Parkinson’s Disease there, well basic research for it. That’s why I had to learn how to do patch clamping, not that easy! -.-
In my free time/weekends these 2 months I visited Sarah in Gießen with Nina and went with Badi to see Tini’s oriental dance show! :) :)
Also I built the cage for my 3 rats together with Matze.
In April I celebrated my birthday by going bowling which was a lot of fun and then drinking cocktails in Ulm. It was a very nice evening! :)
Then the 6th (=my last) semester started. So I had to attend lectures and seminars AND do the lab work. This was very stressful most of the time… But I also had some nice moments in April: I went to a concert of “Haggard” with Tini, we had the “Day of Molecular Medicine” at university with some nice and interesting talks and I joined an Easter ride with Donna, the pony I am allowed to ride for some money and barn work. In the last weekend Badi celebrated her birthday, another nice party! :)
In May I attended a symposium of Molecular Medicine in Tübingen with interesting talks and workshops, some fellow students joined me. Badi, Corinna and me made another Star Trek/Star Gate DVD evening, I went to eat in a restaurant with my family because of my mum’s birthday, with Matze I ate in a Mongolian restaurant and we watched the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. :) Also I was accepted in Heidelberg for the master’s programme “Molceular Biosciences – Neurosciene” after a talk with a professor there. :) Then I fell ill. I had a hard cough for 4 weeks, so I couldn’t go to the gym any more. I really hated that! We wrote our first 2 exams in this semester (pharmacology and physiology).
In June I visited some relatives in Oldenburg with my family as there was a birthday party. These were some nice days off university work/stuff!! With Matze I watched “X-Men: First class” and with my mum “Water for Elephants” 2 great movies! :)
The first 2 weeks of July I wrote my bachelor thesis and Christina and Alex (from the lab) read and corrected it. The I gave it to Elena, the lab leader, and the problems began as she didn’t read it within 2 weeks! And so I couldn’t give it to Prof Liss on Friday, but have to give it to her on Monday and she doesn’t seem to be very happy about the delay :( :( So I had some really bad problems in the lab in July… I did not only have to write the thesis , but also had to study for 4 more exams: physiology 2, pharmacology and toxicolgy 2, gene therapy and pathology. Most exams were good however and I am relieved about that! :) With Lulu and Sevil I visited Franzi (some old school friends) in Stuttgart. We had a really nice evening with self-made pizza and cocktails! :) I hope we can meet again soon. The was my sister’s and my father’s birthdays and we went to a restaurant again ;)
With Heidi I watched the last Harry Potter movie in English and then we met some other fellow students and went to eat in a Swabian restaurant :) With Lulu I had a nice breakfast in the café Maxime and yesterday night Astrid, André, Noemi, Steffen and Matze and I ate in a Mexican restaurant. :)
So holidays have started at least (I think I really have earned them!!) as the last exams have been written and I will give my thesis to Prof Liss tomorrow. Anke, Mum and Dad went to Croatia for 2 weeks, so I am alone at home now. I hope I won’t get bored all the time!!!
Well, Matze wanted to fetch me at 11. We want to go to the gym together, so where is he?^^
